Preparing for Our Annual Meeting & Officer Elections

Each year, Kapahulu Bible Church holds its Annual Congregational Meeting in mid-October, following the close of our fiscal year on August 31. This important meeting allows us to review the Lord’s faithfulness over the past year, look ahead with vision and prayer, and affirm leaders who will serve our church in the coming season.

In preparation for that meeting, a Nominating Committee must be formed to help identify individuals from among our congregation who may be called to serve in officer roles. The formation of this committee and its responsibilities are outlined in our Constitution and Bylaws:

ARTICLE XI — NOMINATING COMMITTEE
A Nominating Committee shall consist of the lead pastor, two members from the Church membership, selected by, but not necessarily from the governance authority, and two elected from the Church membership in a manner stipulated by the local church bylaws, at least one month prior to the annual meeting.

LOCAL BYLAW ARTICLE XI — NOMINATING COMMITTEE
A. Election of Nominating Committee shall be held in the month of June…

What This Means:
A five-member Nominating Committee will be formed on June 29th—comprised of the Lead Pastor, two individuals appointed by the church’s governance authority, and two members elected by the congregation. This team is tasked with prayerfully identifying and inviting individuals to consider serving in officer roles that will become vacant at the end of the current term.

To carry this out, we will be holding a brief congregational meeting on Sunday, June 29th at 11:30 AM (immediately following the morning service) to elect two members of the Nominating Committee.

Once the full committee is formed, additional information will be shared in July and August, including which positions need to be filled and how members can participate in the process.

Join Us in Prayer

We ask our KBC ʻOhana to join us in prayer during this important season. Please pray that:

  • The Holy Spirit would go before this process and prepare the hearts of those He is calling into leadership.

  • Members of our congregation would be open and responsive to God’s leading.

  • The Nominating Committee would serve with discernment, wisdom, and unity.

We’re excited to see how God continues to shape our leadership and grow us as a Christ-centered ʻOhana. Thank you for praying, serving, and participating in this vital part of church life.
