Exodus 20:17 and Luke 12:13–21

Have you ever found yourself coveting what someone else possesses, feeling that deep yearning twist your perspective on life and relationships? In Pastor J's sermon, he draws us into the final commandment:

"You shall not covet anything that belongs to your neighbor,"

This last "episode" in Exodus 20 illuminates how this quiet sin can warp our hearts when left unchecked. Through the lens of Luke 12, Pastor J reveals that coveting not only distorts our view of others, reducing friends to rivals, but also blinds us to life’s eternal treasures. He emphasizes that true satisfaction comes from being rich toward God, shifting our focus from self-centered desires to a deeper, loving relationship with Him. As we contemplate our own lives, Pastor J challenges us to consider where our treasures lie: are we chasing fleeting, earthly possessions or investing in eternal life that fulfills our deepest need? He earnestly calls us to reject the cravings that ensnare us, encouraging us to pursue a contentment rooted in Christ, who emptied Himself for our sake.

Will you answer the call to freedom by seeking true richness in your relationship with God? Come to Him to gain everything that truly matters.
