Our Portion Is the Lord

In a world that measures success by what we possess, what we accomplish, and how others perceive us, God calls His people to something far greater—finding their greatest treasure in Him.

When Israel entered the Promised Land, the Levites received an inheritance unlike that of the other tribes. Rather than receiving a territory of their own, they were given the extraordinary privilege of serving the Lord. God Himself was their inheritance.

But with that privilege came great responsibility. The Levites were set apart for sacred service, entrusted with teaching God's Word, and called to lead His people in faithful worship. Their history reveals both the beauty of wholehearted devotion and the danger of losing sight of the One they were called to serve.

In this four-part series, Our Portion Is the Lord: Lessons from the Levites, we'll explore what their calling teaches us about finding our satisfaction in God, serving Him faithfully, passing His truth to the next generation, and guarding our hearts against spiritual complacency.

The Levites' story reminds us that the greatest gift God gives His people is not what we receive from His hand, but the privilege of belonging to Him.

The question is not simply whether we serve the Lord, but whether the Lord Himself is our portion.
