"Shout for joy to the Lord all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs!" (Psalm 100:1, 2), and "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." (Phil. 4:13) are two of my lifelong Scripture verses in the Bible. It encourages me to worship the Lord with unending joy and recognize how He alone is worthy to be worshiped & praised. It also teaches me that we need to rely totally on the Lord’s strength to carry us through all the circumstances that life brings. We can’t do it on our own.

I love to worship the Lord through music that glorifies HIM and also ministers to others and lifts them up. Worshiping God should be a lifestyle not just on Sundays but every single day of our lives.

I thank God for His grace and mercy and for giving me the promise of eternal life through His Son, Jesus Christ. I am also so thankful for my wonderful wife, Jenny, and family who are truly my inspiration and support. The Bible Institute of Hawaii played a significant part in teaching me the Word of God, the heart of God, and applying His Word to my everyday life. I am so thankful for the people who made an impact in my life. Pastor Bob Plank, Pastor Harold Gallagher, Ada Lum, Rod Franklin, Pastor Don Baron, Clive Cowell and many others who showed me the love of Jesus through their life experiences.

Jenny and I are so overwhelmed with joy to be a part of the KBC Ohana.  We are excited and look forward to what the Lord has in store for the future of KBC in raising up the next generation to proclaim His glory in our community, these islands, and throughout the world. “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!” (Psalm 150:6).

Q. How long have you been attending KBC?

A. Jenny & I have been here at KBC  for 11 months.

Q. Reason for serving at KBC?

A. It’s an honor and humbling experience to serve in the area of worship. I’m excited about developing and mentoring people (young and old) who are interested in using the musical gifts that God has given them.

Q. Favorite Book of the Bible? Why?

A. Psalms is definitely my favorite book! David knew how to worship the Lord through whatever circumstances that he was facing in his life. He relied totally on the Lord to be His strength and shield.  We can surely apply the Psalms in our everyday life. Like David, we can be real worshipers of our God and King by giving everything to Him.

Q. How did you become a Christian?

A. I met a Pastor by the name of Bob Plank who shared Christ with me. He taught me the value of God’s Word and how to apply it in my everyday life. Bob was a genuine person and he “walked the talk” and put God’s Word in action. He was there for me through my most difficult circumstances. We eventually became good friends and that led me to accepting Jesus as my Savior and Lord.

Q. Favorite Scripture?

A. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Phil. 4:13

Q. Favorite Food?

A. My wife Jenny’s Kalbi Meat. ONO delicious!

Q. What are your passions?

A.

  • Playing and teaching the guitar.
  • Creating different styles of music.
  • Mentoring and developing people’s musical skills.
  • Encouraging others to be the best they can be in whatever their passion is.

Q. What is the most rewarding part of your Ministry?

A. When I see people that are excited, enthusiastic and open to learning more about different ways to improve their musical skills as well as growing spiritually in the Lord.
